Bolo is a voice dictation accessibility tool for supported text fields across apps.
AccessibilityService is used only to:
- detect when a supported text field is focused,
- show the floating microphone while you are typing,
- insert dictated text into supported apps,
- reduce extra taps for users who prefer speaking instead of typing.
Bolo does not use AccessibilityService to read passwords, collect sensitive data, or monitor banking/payment apps. Bolo avoids password fields and suppresses itself in selected sensitive apps.
If Accessibility is not enabled, Bolo can still keep a floating mic available on screen for manual dictation, but smart show/hide and direct in-field typing work best when Accessibility is enabled by the user.
Bolo also offers:
- offline on-device dictation,
- an optional limited Bolo cloud trial,
- optional bring-your-own OpenAI or Gemini API key support.
When you choose a cloud mode, audio is sent only for the requests you make:
- Bolo Free Trial sends audio to Bolo's server and then to OpenAI,
- your own OpenAI or Gemini key sends audio directly from your phone to the selected provider.
