About this app

Puthaiyal turns a campus, a mall, a heritage street or a whole town into a treasure hunt. Every racer visits the same set of QR checkpoints, but each one is dealt a personal order through them — so the person beside you at the first chest is already heading somewhere else. There is nobody to follow. You have to find your own stops.

WHAT A RACE FEELS LIKE

• Browse the hunts on offer before you make an account. Tap one to see the venue, the window, the prize and who is running it.
• Ask to join. The organiser approves you, and the app tells you the moment they do.
• When the gun goes, the app gives you the clue to your first stop and nothing else. No map pin, no arrow, no distance, and never the name of a place you have not reached. Finding it is the game.
• Get there, scan the printed QR code, and the chest opens on your trail. The app hands you the next clue and nothing further ahead.
• Scan the wrong checkpoint and the app says so plainly, then sends you back to the one you were looking for. If a printed sheet is torn or wet, a marshal can credit the stop by hand and you carry on.
• Your whole run is drawn as an island trail — one gold chest per stop, opened behind you, locked in front. It never scrolls, so you can read it while you walk.
• At the last checkpoint you take your own finish photograph. The organiser checks it before results go out.
• Results are ranked on time alone. No points, no coins, no in-app currency of any kind — the only thing that decides the winner is how fast you ran your own route.
