Are you accumulating a lot of AI-generated project proposals and meeting minutes in .md files?

Simple MD Viewer is a view-only viewer that rearranges and displays those Markdown files in easy-to-read Japanese.

■ Naturally formatted as Japanese

・Line breaks are inserted at appropriate points, considering sentence structure. No unnatural line breaks in the middle of words.

・Punctuation marks and closing parentheses are not placed at the beginning of lines (hyphenation rules).

・A small space is added where Japanese and alphanumeric characters are adjacent. The boundaries are easier to read.

・Even if there are line breaks in the original text, it is treated as a continuation of the same paragraph. The display is not affected by the writer's line break positions.

■ Open and read immediately

・Selecting .md in your file management app will open it directly.

・Can also be opened from email and chat attachments.

・Can be shared via the "Share" function in other apps. It accepts both files and text.

* When launched from the icon, the file selection screen opens immediately. It bypasses the home screen.

■ Reading Features

* Document Search: Search the entire document and navigate to the found section.

* Unformatted Display: Switch to a mode that displays the original Markdown text in monospaced font.

* Document Information: For documents with a front matter, you can view its contents.

* Headings, bullet points, tables, quotes, and code snippets are displayed in their respective formats. Code is color-coded by major languages.

* Text can be selected and copied from anywhere. Copying across tables and code snippets is uninterrupted.

■ Customizable Appearance

* Choose from three color schemes: light, dark, or follow device settings.

* Adjust font size in 5 steps. It also adjusts to the device's font size settings.

* Screen colors blend with the color scheme created by the device's wallpaper.


■ Clearly stating what it *doesn't* do

This is a viewer solely for reading. The following are not possible:

* You cannot edit or rewrite documents. Opened files will not be touched.

* Tapping links within the text will not navigate to other pages.

* Formulas and diagrams are displayed as code, not as diagrams.

* There is no table of contents accessible from headings.

* No advertisements are displayed.


■ Completely self-contained within your device

This app does not have permission to connect to the internet. Documents are processed solely within your device and are never sent externally. No account creation is required.

It does not request permission to search your device. It only opens files you select.

■ Operating Environment and Notes

* Compatible with Android 13 and above. Display is Japanese only.

* For very long documents, approximately 100,000 characters from the beginning will be displayed.

* Line breaks at phrases are only effective if your device's "Android System WebView" supports them. On devices where updates have stopped, the text will be displayed with the normal wrapping method.

シンプルMDビューアの最初のリリースです。Markdown で書かれた文書を、日本語として読みやすい位置で改行し、行頭に句読点が来ないように組んで表示します。ファイル管理アプリやメールの添付、ほかのアプリの「共有」から開けます。文書内の検索、原文をそのまま見る整形なし表示、テーマと文字の大きさの切り替えを備えています。通信は行いません。
