About this app

Asset Infinity Field is the handset app for asset and maintenance teams. It is built for the person standing at the plant rather than the person at a desk: the jobs on today, the checklist that has to be completed, the photograph that proves it was, and the meter read in a basement with no signal in it.

You need an account from your employer

This app is used by organisations that license Asset Infinity. There is no sign-up: your own administrator creates your account, decides what you can reach, and gives you the address to sign in with. Without an account on your organisation's system there is nothing for this app to open.

Built for no signal

Signing in downloads your work onto the handset. After that the app reads what is on the device, so your jobs, checklists, asset details and guides are all there in a plant room, a basement or a lift shaft. Everything you record goes into a queue and is sent when the handset finds a network again.

The app says which of those it is doing, and it says it in the same words everywhere. Every record reads Synced, Pending, Conflict or Failed. Every button says whether the action is allowed offline, queued for the server to validate, or genuinely needs a connection. Nothing is offered that cannot be done, and nothing quietly fails later.

What you can do

• Today — the jobs and rounds assigned to you, in the order they are due
• Work orders — accept, say you are on your way, start, pause, resume, log hours and close, with the asset, the parts and the history on the same screen
• Checklists — tick the steps, record measurements, and see which steps will not let the job close
• Evidence — photographs taken with the camera and signatures signed on the glass, attached to the step that asked for one
• Inspection rounds — walk a route and record the answer at each point
• Meter readings — send the number on the dial; what it consumed is worked out when the reading reaches the server
• Scan — read a barcode or QR label with the camera, or type the number off the plate, and either way it is looked up against the copy already on the device
• Asset register — search the plant, read an asset's detail and history, and add one that is not on the register yet
• Raise a job — report a fault where you found it, on the asset you found it on
• Parts and tools — record what was fitted, and take a tool out and put it back
• Messages, dashboards and the guides your organisation has written, where your organisation has those switched on

Made for a shared handset

The work downloaded to the device is stored encrypted, behind a passcode set the first time you sign in, and behind a fingerprint where the handset offers one.

Signing out at the end of a shift forgets the session and the downloaded work — and deliberately keeps the queue, so a handset changing hands between shifts does not carry off the previous technician's unsent afternoon. Wiping the device is offered separately and asks before it does anything.

An administrator can revoke a handset from the office. The next time that handset reaches the server, the copy on it is destroyed.

Removing an account

Accounts belong to the organisation that licenses this app rather than to the person using it, which is also why nobody can create one here. Ask your own administrator to remove yours. If you do not know who that is, the support route inside the app reaches somebody who does.
Assets, work orders, checklists and evidence — with or without a signal.

What’s new

Fixes the barcode scanner on Android. Pressing "Use the camera" on the Scan tab reported "Permission denied" without ever asking for the camera permission; the app now requests it properly. The first Photograph press also asks for camera access.
