Updated to the latest version on Android yesterday [Huawei Honor 4X, Android 4.4.4]. Sync is still very iffy. Contacts sync worked alright. This time it got stuck with events again. I wonder how long it will be by the time all these bugs get sorted out.
Best in the category!
While both the desktop and Android versions of EssentialPIM are good, I was disappointed after I realized I couldn't sync straight to the cloud service that I had just paid a subscription for so this incredibly reduced the use of the Android version. While I understand that it's coming, it really aught to have been implemented from the start. Aside from the fact that syncing to your PC is something you would have expected ten years ago, with people on the go, cloud sync is essential. Also, I was disappointed that there was no RTF in the notes section of the app. While the desktop version has this, it would have been nice to at least see the formatting in the notes even if they were read only. If I cross out a list in the notes in the desktop version of EPIM, I don't see that reflected in the Android app. It's a work in progress but just two things that I didn't think were clear when I had purchased.
Great app. We keep the main calendar on the desktop and sync the mobile devices to it. I had problem a few weeks ago & both phones would not load, error messages app stopped. This was right after an update, PC worked ok, phones didn't. Error message had option to send report to Astonsoft which I did. This was about 6pm EST, was hoping they might look into it in 3 - 4 days, but no, it was taken care of within a couple hours! Outstanding support !! UPDATE 07/18/2015, MORE OF THE SAME !!
Seamless Design The app is easy to use and issues get resolved faster. There's a slight problem with the widgets not synching properly but it's fine. Maybe it gets fixed next update.
Great PC-Mobile functionality This is an app I use all the time on PC, and I'm truly glad to see it had a smooth transition; same great features and functionality that made the original PC version a neccesity for me from the day 1. It needs some polishing in the notes and passwords department though, and the option to encrypt your database is a paid feature, which was free on the PC (workaround: any applock), unfortunately the sync feature only works for me on install version of Essential PIM for PC, no Liberkey version compatibility.
