About this app

Astroshot will help you determine the ideal shutter speed to capture celestial phenomenon.

BREAKING: Astroshot's latest version will now allow you to add your own equipment, such as telescopes, eyepieces and cameras!

Astroshot gives you comprehensive information about the used equipment, using extensive databases containing information about telescopes, eyepieces, SLR and CCD or CMOS cameras and lenses.

Astroshot consists of the following components:

- Telescope calculator
Will give you extensive information about the used telescope and eyepiece combination.
- SLR Camera calculator
Will provide information about field of view (FOV), ideal- and maximum shutter speeds and the length of star trails at a particular shutter speed
- CCD / CMOS Calculator
Will provide relevant information, including a visual representation of the calculated FOV, about the used telescope + camera combination with prime focus photography.
- Sky Calculator
Is it full moon today or is it possibly cloudy at my location? Astroshot gives relevant information regarding the visual conditions at a certain time.
- Filter Calculator
A versatile filter calculator with countdown timer, which will return the correct shutter speed when using a particular filter (This calculator is also separately available on Google Play).

Other features of Astroshot:
- Night view
Maintains your night vision during your observation sessions
- The filter calculator's countdown timer will optionally give an acoustic or vibrational alarm when the countdown from the calculated shutter speed has expired.
- User-friendly controls to facilitate easy entry of values
- All variables chosen by the user will be saved for your next session
- Extensive local help information available about the terms used within the application.

Contact ATWglobal if:
- A certain calculation does not seem to be correct or needs to be revised
- You have an idea for an addition or change to the application (observation log?)

Visit our site for more screenshots and a more detailed description of this must-have app for astrophotography enthusiasts.

Disclaimer: All calculations shown in the application are approximations.
The perfect picture, apart from the formulae used, is also dependent on light pollution, optical quality of the various used components, the stability of the camera setup and a plethora of other variables.
