I took a look at Otter first off and found it to be good but quite limited. I checked with Claude and AudioPen was recommended. The free version is a bit limited but once I signed up for the full version I have been blown away! I've now tried several of the advanced features and the app is simply amazing! I highly recommend signing up for the full version as it's far superior to the free one. There's a 3 month option on the web but now I wish I'd signed for the year! Support is also fantastic!

I can honestly say this app has changed the way I work and helped me get through school prior to the job I have now. The functionally is just amazing.

1) With a note open: tapping ▶️ doesn't immediately start playback; instead, it pulls up a special play interface—while obstructing the written note!—in which you gotta tap play again. 2) No option to toggle playback speed. 3) Play button isn't displayed in older notes (those recordings are only accessible in the app's Audio Recordings area). Do recordings get archived/deleted automatically? 🤔😬 4) In Audio Recordings, tapping delete immediately deletes without confirmation. 5) No Trash folder.
