AusTouring Map is a specialised off-road, 4x4, touring & camping map designed specifically for Australian adventurers. Whether you're exploring the outback, planning a remote trip, or just escaping the highway, AusTouring Map reveals more than typical mapping apps, and at lower zoom levels.
Note: The web version / Chrome App is 100% free to use at https://austouringmap.com. The one-time Play Store fee is to support the offline maps feature.
Key Features
• See all minor roads and tracks from low zoom levels
Unlike most maps, AustouringMap displays 4WD tracks, station roads, minor unsealed routes and remote paths starting at zoom level 8. Easily scan huge areas to plan routes without constantly zooming in. For cities, high density and urban areas, this applies to zoom levels 13+, so as to no overcrowd the map.
• Campsites & caravan parks from multiple sources
Find camp spots, caravan parks, petrol stations and tourist POIs clearly highlighted on the map, even from lower zoom levels so nothing is easy to overlook.
• Road conditions & closures updated twice daily
Road status information sourced from shires, councils, and government transport departments is refreshed automatically on the map twice a day.
• Visual track restrictions
Quickly spot access conditions on tracks, including:
• private access
• no access
• management only
• and more
Tracks marked as “4WD required” are clearly shown with a reddish colour so you can identify challenging sections at a glance.
• Search across Australia
Find places, features, outback locations, localities, or coordinates anywhere across the country.
• Offline maps
Select and download any region for offline use, ideal for remote travel without coverage. Recently viewed map tiles are also cached automatically for reuse when offline.
• GPS-enabled
Track your real-time position on the map. (Note: navigation / turn-by-turn routing is not currently supported.)
