Dashcam Auto records from both the front and rear cameras. The videos are silent.
A separate audio file starts recording only when you tap "Emergency," for a serious dispute or assault, and stops when you tap it again. This file remains on your phone. The app does not offer continuous audio.
Recording can continue after you exit the app, as long as the screen remains on. A notification remains visible, and a floating button stops or resumes the cameras. The video stops when the phone screen turns off. An emergency sound that has already started will continue until you stop it.
The files remain in the app's private space on your phone. They are not sent to the publisher, and the publisher does not host them. The publisher is not responsible for the processing of these recordings. You are responsible for the recordings you make.
Before starting the camera, you confirm three things: you are responsible for the recordings in your vehicle, you will display a sticker visible to passengers, and you will comply with privacy laws where you drive, including the GDPR.
The loop files, including emergency videos and audio, are deleted after a period you choose: 7 days by default, up to 31 days. When storage space is low, the oldest files are deleted first. A copy you keep for police or insurance purposes remains on the phone until you delete it.
The city name can be noted on the phone next to a file. It is not sent anywhere. The app does not ask for your name. A local log records the date, time, and an installation ID when you agree to these points. This log remains on the phone and is not sent to the developer.
The app is for all drivers. No account is required. After one month on the device, use requires a Google Play subscription.
