AutoBudget auto-categorizes the expenses and income inside your bank statements — without sending a single byte to any server.
Auto-categorizes every transaction on-device using built-in keyword rules + patterns the engine learns from your own corrections.

WHY AUTOBUDGET

• 100% on-device. Transactions, budgets, and reports live encrypted on your phone (AES-256-GCM, key in Android KeyStore — hardware-backed where available).
• No sign-in. No account. We never ask for your name, email, phone, Aadhaar, PAN, or any identifier.
• No ads. No crash reporting. No cloud AI. No outbound network calls beyond the app's own static assets.
• Built for India — INR, IST, FY April–March, UPI / NEFT / IMPS handling, DPDP Act 2023 aligned.

WHAT IT DOES

• Imports bank statements — PDF, CSV, or XLSX — from 12+ Indian banks (HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis, Kotak, IDFC First, Yes Bank, IndusInd, RBL, Federal, Standard Chartered, HSBC India, and more).
• Splits UPI / NEFT / IMPS / cheque entries correctly so transfers don't pollute your spending categories.
• Budgets per category, per month — with auto-generated starter budgets based on your last 3 months of actuals.
• Dashboard with budget-vs-actual breakdown, sorted by spend.
• Tap any chart bar or category to drill straight into the underlying transactions.
• Excel reports saved to your Documents folder — yours to keep, yours to share.
• Period picker that syncs across Dashboard, Log, and Budget tabs.

PRIVACY YOU CAN VERIFY

• Local-storage only. The app makes zero network calls during normal use.
• AES-256-GCM encryption at rest, backed by Android KeyStore.
• Optional App Lock — biometric / device-PIN gate, locks after 30 seconds in background.
• FLAG_SECURE on every screen — blocks screenshots, Recents previews, and screen recording.
• Signing-certificate integrity check at launch — refuses to run if the APK has been re-signed by a third party.
• Counterparty PII scrubbed at import (VPAs, account numbers, IFSC, PAN, Aadhaar last-4 redacted before any export).
• DPDP Act 2023 §6 explicit consent gate on first launch — withdraw or reset anytime from More → Privacy & Your Rights.

WHAT WE DELIBERATELY DON'T DO

• No Google Sign-In. No Firebase. No Account Aggregator. No bank API integrations that would need your credentials.
• No cloud sync — by design. Use the Excel export to back up before a reinstall.
• No "smart suggestions" that send your transactions to a cloud LLM.
• No SMS reader, no contacts access, no location, no advertising ID.

UNDER THE HOOD

React + Capacitor on Android. PDF parsing via pdfjs-dist. Spreadsheet parsing via SheetJS / ExcelJS. Everything runs inside the app's WebView, on your device. Open-source libraries only — no proprietary SDKs.
