Herodotus (485 - 421/415 BC) was an ancient Greek traveler, geographer and historian of the 5th century BC. He wrote about the Persian Wars (among the Greeks and the Persians) as well as descriptions of various places and persons he met on his travels. Herodotus was named Father of History.
