About this app
To use this app, the Nova Electronics RW485 board is needed.
Connect to the RW485 via WiFi to receive NMEA 0183 frames. Frames can be viewed as a raw stream, split in categories (e.g. GPS, AIS, Radar, etc.), as well as split in type (RMC, GGA, GSV, etc.).
The user can save or share the data received (either raw, or filtered by category or type). Generated files are saved in the following location: "Android/data/com.autotech.novel183/Files/Reports".
Information about the RW485 board is also available. Such information includes firmware version, battery/charging status, as well as transmission baud rate. The board's baud rate can be set by the app (in the Options page).
The user is alerted in case of low battery on the RW485 board, or disconnection from it. Such alerts include a relevant icon at the top-right of the screen, a popup and a push notification.
The app checks for new firmware versions of the RW485 board, and pushes potential new firmware to a connected RW485 device for an OTA firmware update.
