I've been using Avast Cleanup and Avast Antivirus for years now. Never a problem. It's free if you don't mind it being ad supported. You'll only get like 1 ad per session, so it doesn't slam you with ads. I've actually taken advantage of a couple of them and were glad I saw the ad. Seriously, there's not a better free cleaner or antivirus out there and I've prob used a dozen over the years. 5 of 5 for me.

You used to be able to clean the hidden items by watching an ad. Now the ad never loads and will NOT clean these items, but you STILL HAVE TO WATCH ANOTHER AD! I did what was suggested, and now there's NO option to clean the hidden cache without paying for a subscription! I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT DO THIS, because the last time I did, Avast charged me 3 times in 1 month for $137 each time, causing my account to overdraft. This USED to be the best free security and cleaning app, now it's all about $!

I understand how frustrating this is! Please check your internet connection, update the app, and try restarting it. If ads still don’t load properly, clearing the app cache or reinstalling might help. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team to improve the experience.

I've used Cleanup for years. But, I'll be looking for a new FREE cleanup app now. I was having the same problem, as mentioned in recent reviews, of ads not loading to run the deep clean. I did an uninstall/reinstall to see if that resolved the issue. I learned that the deep clean is now a premium option requiring a subscription. Not happening. And shame on the Avast team for their replies implying that the issue is anything other than an intentional change to a premium option.

We understand that the deep clean feature being moved to the Pro version can be disappointing. The decision to move certain features to premium is part of how we support continued app development. We apologize if our responses have seemed misleading, your feedback is important to us, and we’ll take it into consideration for future improvements.
