About this app

With the app “COS User Safety” you’ll get easy access to safety data on the chemicals you’re using and knowledge of how to work safely. Search and find your chemicals with the app's search function or by simply scanning the barcode.

As a user of chemicals, you must be thoroughly instructed in the work you’re doing. You must:

• Know the hazards of the chemicals you’re using
• Know the risks of exposure to the chemicals
• Know how to work safely (personal protective equipment)
• Know the precautions you need to take to safeguard yourself and your colleagues against dangers
• Have access to the safety data sheets (SDS)
• Have access to a list of the chemicals you’re using in your workplace

All this data, we have compiled for you in "COS User Safety". We continuously update data on your company's chemicals, so with "COS User Safety" you’re always up-to-date.
The app also includes a learning module - COSpedia and COS e-learing. Here, a.o., you may find explanations for abbreviations and concepts, meaning of labels and pictograms, instructions on the use of eg. glove types and materials, carbon filters for respiratory protection and much more.

With the app you can also open new chemicals or add chemicals to a workplace. And in this way, updating of COS can be included in your internal audit or in your safety walks.
With COS User Safety you get access to:

• A list of the chemicals you’re using at your workplace
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Chemical workplace Instructions (APB)
• The chemical's CLP classification and labelling.
• The chemical's "color code" (hazard assessment of the inherent hazards)
• Job safety instructions (JSI) on your processes (result of Chemical Risk Assessment)
• A scan function, for scanning bar codes or QR tags.
• Require opening of chemicals in COS
• Adding chemicals to your workplace in COS
• COSpedia with definitions and explanations
• COS e-learning with learning videos
