About this app

Flying Calmly is designed for frequent flyers who want to stay informed about turbulence levels during their air travels. Our app provides personalized turbulence forecasts, a global turbulence map, and real-time in-flight sensor data to help you feel more at ease while flying.

Our app sources publicly available data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). We apply our own algorithm to calculate turbulence levels for your specific flight.

Key Features:

- Personalized Turbulence Forecasts: Access up-to-date turbulence forecasts for your flight, generated 36 hours before takeoff and updated every 6 hours.
- Global Turbulence Map: View turbulence data for various altitudes and time periods on an interactive map, providing insights into turbulence conditions during your flight.
- Real-time In-flight Sensor Data: Monitor your plane's movements, including pitch, roll, ascent, and descent, to better understand turbulence and flight conditions.
- User-friendly Interface: Easily access the information you need with a clean and intuitive design.

Ad-Free & Accessible:

Flying Calmly is completely ad-free and doesn't require a subscription or payments for unlocking features. All features are available upfront, and if you're satisfied with our service, you can make a voluntary payment to support the app's development.

Timely Notifications:

Our turbulence forecasts are available earliest 36 hours before takeoff and are updated every 6 hours. Save your flight in the app and receive a push notification as soon as the forecast becomes available.

Limited information. Graph is too simplistic with not enough detail. Forecasts are not updated, I entered my flight details a week prior and the turbulence information did not change? Really? Device sensor don't work. Especially when flying where there is normally no Internet. Why does the map ways default to the U.S? Why can't the map show my current location from my phones gps? It would be good if you could include aircraft information also. I'd like to donate, but the app is not reliable.

Hi, thank you for the review and the comments. There are some known issues affecting the sensors and notifications with Samsung devices. The reason for defaulting to the US is to not having to make use of the GPS. We want to keep our hands away from private data as much as possible. Aircraft information will be added in future updates. Thanks!

A. Doesn't find flight number ex ACA8044 B. Doesn't find my sensors. There's a pitch and roll sensor in my phone (gyro) as well as atmospheric pressure sensor neither works. I could probably get more info from flightaware. C. This app does not improve my aerophobia.

Hi, we have found out that when using a Samsung on-screen keyboard that has the "Predictive text" option enabled, then the search function doesn't work properly. If you are having problems typing a flight number when searching, please try disabling that option in case you are using a Samsung device.

Changed rating as I figured out the search function. You have to put the airline code in first ("AA" for American Airlines), hit enter. Then the flight number. Hit enter.
