The app calculates blood pressure of carbon dioxide (pCO2) taking bicarbonate (HCO3) as data.
The result is used to know the type of acidosis or alkalosis that the patient has.
1) If the PCO2 of the blood gas analysis is lower than the expected or calculated PCO2, aggregate respiratory alkalosis is diagnosed.
2) If the PCO2 of the blood gas analysis is greater than the expected or calculated PCO2, added respiratory acidosis is diagnosed.
3) If the PCO2 of the blood gas analysis is equal to the expected or calculated PCO2, pure metabolic acidosis is diagnosed.
