About this app
The Cáceres Intelligent Heritage initiative is a project of the City Council of Cáceres selected in the II Call for Smart Cities within the framework of the Digital Agenda for Spain.
It is developed through a collaboration agreement with RED.ES, a public business entity of the Ministry of Economy and Business and is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The initiative is proposed as a tool that will contribute to achieving the social and economic well-being of the citizens of Cáceres, through the use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) based on digital infrastructure and digital services, which allow building a city that manages its resources more efficiently and sustainably and offers its citizens better services.
Among the different technological developments of the initiative is this mobile tourism application, a reference tool for tourism in a city like Cáceres, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The tourism APP offers a new tourist information channel and the city's cultural agenda, not only to visitors to Cáceres but also to all citizens:
- Information referring to the exceptional resources and tourist services of the city.
- Information on the cultural agenda and events of the city.
- Playful content, such as the Yincanas that are developed by the city.
- Information in situ through mechanisms and devices of intelligent tourist signaling (QR codes, NFC devices and Beacons).
- A wide repertoire of multimedia content: audio guides, video guides, image galleries, access to external videos, panoramic images, etc.
- Consultation and acquisition of tourism experiences specially developed by the business sector of Cáceres.
- Tools to capture the opinion of city visitors.
The mobile application also facilitates the use of the Cáceres Card tourist card, loading the card as a virtual bonus in the mobile tourism application, which facilitates access to the monuments and resources of the city, allows to receive detailed information on resources visited and pending to visit, as well as discounts on establishments in the city.
The mobile tourism application of Cáceres is, therefore, a very useful tool, facilitating the planning of the visit, its enjoyment and development and, also, its memory.
