About this app

The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think (so get started).

The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten app lets parents/caregivers keep track of their children's reading activity quickly and easily.

- Scan books into your library
- Keep track of reading activity for multiple readers
- Track your progress to 1000 books!

This app is in dire need of an update. As stated in other reviews, it is incredibly slow. It takes forever to add a book, even if if you scan it. Half the time the book is "unknown" even if it's a well known book, so it has to be manually entered. There's no way to edit preloaded information or your own information after submitting it. Half the books don't have cover pictures uploaded and you can't upload yourself.

This app leaves a LOT to be desired. It is incredibly slow, way too many steps to add a book, then to add said book to the reading list, no way to see how many times you've read each book just that you've read it and a total number, when you email the list it jumbles all the authors so you have to connect them back together yourself, and I've only been using it for a week and already considering going to the paper version. Love the concept. Not a fan of the technology.

Edit: thx for fixes!! I love this program, but the app needs updated. It is very slow between pages. I think having the ability to alphabetize or search the reading log would be helpful. I know you can re-read books but we've chosen to do 1000 different books (trust me we still re-read books we just don't log the duplicate readings), so searching to make sure we didn't already add it would be nice. I think it would also be fun to have a virtual prize pop up when you reach milestones.
