Your face belongs to you.
NO FAKES lets you register your own portrait with RIGHTIS, an identity-rights registry, and then check where images resembling your face appear online.
■ Start with one photo
Take a photo and the app compares it against your registered face and images found online. The similarity you see is a real measurement, not a number we made up.
■ Get a Portrait Card
Once your identity is verified, RIGHTIS issues a Portrait Card and a Rights ID. Your public profile shows your name, the fact that you are registered, and what you allow. It does not show your photos or your contact details.
■ Decide one image at a time
For each image found, you answer two questions.
1. Do you recognise this photo?
2. If not, did you ever allow it to be used?
If you say you did not allow it, the image is kept as a suspected misuse, together with the address, the date it was found, a snapshot of the page, and the similarity.
■ Build a report from your records
You can turn saved records into a report. Creating a report is not the same as filing it. You choose where to file it afterwards.
■ Face Watch
Leave it on and the app checks once a day with your registered face, and tells you when something new turns up.
▪ What this app does not do
We would rather say this plainly.
- It does not find every photo on the internet. Detection is based on image search. It is not a face search that sweeps the web with your face.
- It does not delete images from the internet for you. Removal is something you request, and removing a search result is not the same as removing the original.
- It is not 24/7 monitoring. It checks once a day.
- What the machine reports is an estimate. Even after you answer, misuse is a statement, not a verdict.
▪ Privacy
- Photos you upload for a comparison are not stored. What remains is your registered photo, snapshots of images found, and evidence for reports.
- Your face data is never used for ad targeting or data mining.
- You can ask us to delete your registered portrait and your account at any time.
Your account and portrait are held by RIGHTIS, an identity-rights registry.
