About this game

Backgammon Lite is classic backgammon for your phone. Play the computer at ten levels, or a friend on the same phone. It works offline, has no ads, and needs no account.

PLAY THE COMPUTER, FROM BEGINNER TO GRANDMASTER
• Ten levels, evenly spaced, so each one is a real step up from the last.
• Level 10 plays with a neural network, looks ahead a full roll, and handles the doubling cube with care.
• Bear-offs are played from an exact database.

LEARN FROM EVERY GAME
• After a game, the review tells you how accurately you played, measured against the computer's own levels.
• Each mistake shows the winning chances it cost, like "5% less likely to win".
• Tap a mistake to see the position on the board. Switch between your move and the best move, played out with arrows, and read what the two did differently.
• Doubling decisions are reviewed too, with why the double, take or pass was right or wrong.
• Experienced players can switch on standard notation and exact equities.

REAL BACKGAMMON
• Matches to 1, 3, 5, 7 or 11 points with the Crawford rule, or open-ended money games with the optional Jacoby rule.
• The doubling cube in every game.
• A "How to play" guide for newcomers, and a hint button that plays the turn for you when you're stuck.

TWO PLAYERS, ONE PHONE
• Pass the phone back and forth. A solo match and a two-player match are saved separately, so starting one never loses the other.

PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
• Close the app at any moment: your match is saved move by move.
• Statistics for every level: wins, gammons, backgammons and your accuracy.
• Export your matches as standard .mat files that other backgammon programs can open.
• Oak and modern boards, three playing speeds, optional sound and vibration, and a switch to hide the tap hints once you know your way around.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• The app has no internet access at all. Your games and settings stay on your phone.
• No ads, no in-app purchases, no account, no tracking.
