Know what to throw. Pick a species, a spot and a day, and Baitlore tells you what to tie on, where to put it and how to work it.
A Plan for the Day
Baitlore is a fishing forecast app for freshwater predators and barbel. Choose where and when you're fishing, and Baitlore fills in the conditions from the weather forecast for that spot: wind, light, a recent cold snap and estimated water temperature. Check them, correct anything you know is wrong, and get your plan.
Every plan gives you:
- What the fish are doing: the seasonal pattern at that water temperature, such as pre-spawn, summer or winter.
- Up to five ranked picks, from lures and soft plastics to bait rigs and fly, with a recommended first choice.
- Where to cast, how deep to fish and how to work the lure or bait.
- Why that pick makes sense, so you can adjust on the bank instead of guessing.
- Plan B: when to switch, and to what. "When fish follow but won't commit." "If the chop gets heavier."
- Lure colours matched to water clarity and light.
Five Species
Baitlore plans for largemouth bass, northern pike, zander, wels catfish and Iberian barbel. Plans change with the water you're fishing: weed, wood, rock or open water for bass, pike and zander; holes, snags, current and margins for wels catfish; runs, pools, weirs and reservoirs for barbel. They also take water clarity, light and wind into account, or river flow for barbel.
Your Tackle, Your Bank
Tell Baitlore whether you fish from the bank or from a boat or kayak, and what is in your box: soft plastics, hard lures, spinners and spoons, bait or fly. Boat-only picks drop out when you are on the bank, and what you don't carry moves down the list.
Fishing Spots Map
Find fishing spots near you, save the ones you fish and plan from any of them. The community map starts with reservoirs and lakes across Portugal and a first set of bass lakes and reservoirs in the United States. With an account, you can add a spot and suggest edits, and every spot is checked by a person before anyone else sees it.
Technique Guide
More than 60 techniques explained: how to rig it, how to work it and when it works. The guide covers everything from soft-plastic rigs such as the drop shot, Ned rig and Texas rig, through jerkbaits, to deadbait for pike and zander, feeder and float fishing for barbel, and clonking for wels catfish. Plans link straight to the guide.
Built for the Water
- Plan for today or any of the next six days, at dawn, during the day, at dusk or at night.
- Your recent plans stay on your phone and work offline.
- Celsius and metres, or Fahrenheit and feet.
- Free, with no ads and nothing to buy. The planner, map and guide work without an account.
Where It Works
The advice is tailored to the reservoirs and rivers of Portugal and Spain. Largemouth bass plans also cover the rest of Europe, North America and Africa. Pike plans cover Europe and North America; zander and wels catfish plans cover Europe; Iberian barbel stays within Iberia.
Plans are suggestions, not a promise of fish. Check the rules where you fish: licences, closed seasons and size limits.
