About this app

ContactsTask is a Tasker plugin to read contacts. It has two main functions:
1) Query contacts by name, by email, by relation, by phone or by nickname.
2) Delete all your contacts as action (it can be worth as security action).
3) Add/Modify/Delete contacts to phone book
4) Call screening features (android 10+)

works like a charm, much easier than try to build it with java, developer was very responsive.

Late response I'm on holiday: are you sure you grant the needed permission? Is the action ending with timeout? In this case use the filter to retrieve only name. For the number it can be a format problem like prefix number, use * as wildcard. To check retrieve by name and evaluate the phone number format to check if it's like you expect.

Can't use variables to input contact name. No tutorials available anywhere & I'm generally confused on how to properly use these tasker plugins.

Variables are accepted by plugin I don't know why you tried and how. Tutorials are on Baldapps YouTube channel.

I love this plugin it's so easy to use the only thing I'd really like now is an option to query for all contacts

After adding a new contact the returned contact id was wrong, so edit and delete operations could fail
