BanCaller helps you recognise spam before you answer a call from an unfamiliar number.
PROTECTION ON ANDROID
Set BanCaller as your caller ID and spam app. Choose whether to reject or silence calls from numbers with the “Blocked” status.
REPORT AFTER A CALL
Open the call card or the history of calls handled by BanCaller, choose a category and confirm submission.
HOW ARE NUMBERS LABELLED?
The database uses user reports, ratings from external sources and moderation decisions. Spam rules consider report counts and categories. A number can receive the “Blocked” status by reaching the threshold for further reports after being labelled as spam, meeting negative-rating thresholds in an external source, or through an administrator decision. Automatic blocking applies only to this status; a spam label alone is a warning. The absence of a warning does not guarantee that a call is safe.
YOUR ACCOUNT AND FRIENDS
Connect the app to your account to earn points and badges for accepted reports. Browse the community on the BanCaller website, invite friends and respond to invitations from notifications in the app. Accounts are free.
YOUR DATA
BanCaller does not upload your address book, full system call history, call recordings or SMS content. Sending a report requires your action. Call protection uses a database downloaded to your phone; update it to receive new labels.
