About this app
Break the ice with Banshe: send anonymous messages, start private conversations and share questions, challenges and polls.
Have something to say but don't know how to start? Connect through a phone contact or an Instagram username, and choose how you appear from the first message.
START WITH JUST AN INSTAGRAM USERNAME
Know someone's Instagram handle but not their phone number? Enter their exact @username to start a conversation in Banshe.
If that handle is already linked to a Banshe account, your recipient can receive the message in Banshe. Otherwise, the conversation can wait until they join and link the same handle to their account.
These conversations take place in Banshe, not in Instagram Direct. Check the username carefully to reach the intended person.
ANONYMOUS MESSAGES AND PRIVATE CHATS
Send an anonymous message to a contact and turn curiosity into a conversation. Start an exchange even before your contact joins Banshe, then continue together in the app once they join.
CONVERSATIONS WITH A NICKNAME
Choose how you appear with nickname-based messaging. Keep a little mystery while getting to know each other at your own pace.
YOUR LINK, MORE WAYS TO INTERACT
Share your personal Banshe link so people can send you messages from the web. Create questions, open-ended challenges and polls with two or three choices. Share them and follow responses and results in real time. These publication features are available without a subscription.
PLAYFUL WAYS TO BREAK THE ICE
Ask for a hint, suggest who might be behind a message, invite someone to a private challenge or try a three-question game. Participation is voluntary: these interactions do not automatically reveal anyone's identity.
STICKERS AND CONVERSATION IDEAS
Express yourself with 15 ghost stickers and emojis. Find inspiration with message, question and challenge suggestions. Suggestions stay in your draft until you decide to send them.
KEEP YOUR CONVERSATIONS ORGANIZED
Archive chats, find your conversations and choose a light or dark appearance. Translated interface text and localized dates make Banshe feel more familiar in your chosen language.
Banshe brings anonymous messaging, private chats and interactive questions together in one place. Some features require a subscription.
