About this app

PaceScan is a local-first document scanner, OCR reader, and PDF toolkit for everyday paperwork. Capture paper documents, import images or PDFs, extract text, organize files, and export the result in the format you need.

SCAN AND CLEAN DOCUMENTS
- Scan multi-page documents, IDs, receipts, forms, notes, and other paper records.
- Detect page edges, crop scans, and enhance readability.
- Import existing images and PDF files into your document library.

EXTRACT TEXT WITH OCR
- Recognize text in photos, document scans, and scanned PDFs.
- Review and copy recognized text for reuse in other apps.
- Export OCR text as TXT, DOCX, CSV, Markdown, or JSON.
- Extract structured details from supported receipts and documents.

WORK WITH PDFS
- Create PDF files from scans and images.
- View, merge, split, reorder, rotate, or remove PDF pages.
- Compress PDFs and convert between PDF pages and images.
- Add watermarks and signatures to supported documents.
- Apply password protection to supported PDF files.

SCAN QR CODES AND BARCODES
- Read QR codes and common 1D and 2D barcode formats.
- Review detected code values in a dedicated result view.

ORGANIZE, SHARE, AND EXPORT
- Keep scanned documents organized in an on-device library.
- Save files to Downloads, share through the system share sheet, or print them.
- Export selected content as PDF, JPG, TXT, DOCX, CSV, Markdown, or JSON when supported.
- Send supported notes and documents to Obsidian when you choose.

LOCAL-FIRST PRIVACY
Your scans, imported documents, OCR text, file names, and file paths are processed and stored locally by default. PaceScan does not upload document content to its servers. Files leave the app only when you choose to share, print, export, or open them in another service.

Usage analytics is optional and can be disabled in the app. Subscription verification, purchases, restore operations, and scanning SDK license checks may require an internet connection, but they are not used to upload your document content.

PACESCAN PRO
Some advanced OCR, PDF, and export features require PaceScan Pro. Available plans and prices are shown in the app before purchase. Subscriptions are processed by Google Play and can be managed or canceled through your Google Play account. Previous eligible purchases can be restored in the app.
