About this app

Park Güell in Barcelona offers this technological application with the aim of improving the inclusion and autonomy of all people who visit the park, so that they can enjoy the space with autonomy, comfort and safety, regardless of physical diversity , sensory or cognitive.

Selection of profiles: the mobile application offers the possibility of accessing information on Park Güell resources through six profiles, according to needs: cognitive (intellectual and autistic), sensory (visual and auditory) and physical ( mobility and organic). In addition, it offers a combination of nine of these profiles in case the user has several needs.

Selection of accesses and itineraries: accesses from Carmel, Sant Josep, Marianao, Baixada Glòria and Coll de Portell and recommended, essential and reduced mobility itineraries.

Digital maps: once the profile is selected, the user accesses a personalized digital map, without GPS, which allows him to identify where the park's nine main resources, the six complementary resources, the three services, the nine accesses, the three picnic areas and the three calm spaces. The maps are adapted for people with intellectual diversity and may also include an accessible route for people with reduced mobility or adapted colors for people with certain visual needs.

Information: each point of interest (POI) has information in several adapted formats:

- Name of the resource and/or service
- Images in color and adapted in black and white
- Pictograms for people with cognitive diversity
- Video clips
- Complete pronunciations based on easy-to-read texts (audio guides)
- Emergency telephone
- Complete and easy-to-read texts, according to the UNE 153101:2018 EX easy-to-read standard

Menu: At the top left of the maps you can access the mobile app menu, which includes:

- Settings: sound (activate/deactivate), language (Spanish/Catalan/English/French), send comments and close the application
- Credits

Most stupidest audio guide sofar. There is no possibility to download the audio guide. The pronounciation is poor. You need to wait a few minutes for the guide to load at each location. No GPS. You need to keep the app open all times to hear the content. So basically, you cannot switch off the screen or change to another app. On top of all this they ask you permission to access your camera and phone.

In this day and age (2025) this app is an abomination of dysfunction and fail. It loses anything you try to preload. It takes ages to load when you're there, then loses everything when you switch to another app. Then you have to load it again. It doesn't tell you where you are. There's no indication that you're in the right place. You can't use it to save/show your tickets. Don't bother with it, just walk around and enjoy the scenery.

Regularly just shows a black screen and need to be restarted. Click on any point on the map and you likely only have a few seconds to view it before the screen cuts to black with no way to bring it back up without restarting. Happened almost every single time.
