Barfield Inc. designs and manufactures Ground Support Test Equipment (GSTE) and is improving the aircraft maintenance industry one App at a time. Barfield's new and innovative app transforms any Android tablet or cellphone into a wireless remote control for the DPS1000 and the 1811NG.

Additionally, two available features enhance the user experience:
1) The app will detect whether a new firmware version is available when connected to the DPS1000/1811NG through the embedded secure Wi-Fi and automatically will prompt the user to proceed with the upgrade if necessary.
2) The split-screen feature allows users to operate the app while simultaneously opening PDF documents previously downloaded from Dropbox.

The latest Android cellphone support allows the user to access the app through their cellphones with the same capabilities as the tablet.

Ground Support Test Equipment are used for testing aircraft Pitot-Static/Air Data systems. They are fully automated and boast a user friendly interface with color touch screen and programmable test routines. With this new generation of aircraft line maintenance testing through a tablet/cellphone app, Barfield is helping its market and industry take a giant step forward with reliable, economical and universal Air Data testers.

We use this with a DPS1000. When trying to do a system check, our tablet that had worked flawlessly for a while stopped connecting for some reason. thinking it was a corrupted app, we uninstalled the app, only to find out that the 7.0.0 update killed older android support (4.4.2 in this case), so now we have to scramble to get a new tablet to get this to work. Using a new phone (ie: Galaxy S10e) allows for control, but the UI is cut off.

We try to keep compatibility with the widest range of Android ver. but due to the very low % of devices using ver. lower than 5 we now just support 5 & up. Since phone UI is very small some parts might seem cut, you can scroll up/down to see the entire screen info.We'll be glad to help you, contact us through the email shown under "Developer" below

Works with Android and DPS1000, but has a bug, Altitude, Rate of climb, Airspeed, and Rate of speed all are labeled ALT on Android display. EDIT: newest version fixed everything, works great now!
