About this app

Lattice puts a real photograph behind the time and changes it when the weather changes.

THE SKY IS THE BACKGROUND
Fifteen weather conditions, each with its own day sky and night sky: clear, partly cloudy, overcast, rain, drizzle, thunderstorm, snow, sleet, fog and haze. Fourteen photographs cover thirty day-and-night states. You never pick one. Lattice reads the condition your watch already has and swaps the picture itself, so a wet Tuesday looks like a wet Tuesday.

THE SUN AND MOON MOVE WITH THE HOUR
A sun rides the upper dial and travels with the real time of day - low at sunrise, high at midday, low again at sunset. After dark the moon takes its place and shows tonight's phase. Cloud and rain veil it, exactly as they would outside. There is nothing to set.

TWO DENSITIES, ONE TAP APART
The complaint aimed at faces like this is always the same: too much on the glass. Dashboard is the full instrument - an oversized split hour and minute, live seconds, the date, a weather capsule, a battery rail and two readings along the bottom. Focus folds the same dial into one quiet line of time. And if you want the readings but not the bar, the battery rail hides on a switch of its own.

COMPLICATIONS
Two complications and one app shortcut, all three yours to assign on the watch:
- Left: steps out of the box. Takes short text, a ranged value, a monochrome icon or a small image.
- Right: heart rate out of the box, and the same four types.
- Beside the battery rail: an app-shortcut slot, images only. Point it at whatever you want one tap away.
Every one of them accepts Empty, and an empty complication leaves the dial completely - no reserved box, no outline, no hole where something used to be. Each one draws the icon its own provider supplies, so a slot you reassign never keeps the old picture.

ALWAYS-ON
Ambient drops the photograph, both complications and the rail, and keeps the hour, the minute and a single accent rule. Measured at 3.11 per cent of the screen lit.

MAKE IT YOURS
Six accents - graphite, cobalt, ember, violet, lime and rose. Two densities. Battery rail on or off. Weather capsule on or off. 12- or 24-hour. Ninety-six combinations, every one of them set on the watch itself. There is no phone app to install.

WEATHER NEEDS ONE PERMISSION, ONCE
Wear OS does not grant watch faces location access by default, so until you allow it the dial keeps a plain clear sky and the weather capsule stays hidden: Settings > Security and privacy > Permission manager > Location > Watch faces > Allow while using the app. Everything else - time, date, steps, heart rate, battery, and the sun and moon - works the moment you install it.

The face's own labels are in English.
