About this app

Mutiny is a pirate's dial, built the way a real one would be. A plate of oak gone almost black with age, a dark brass bezel around it, and a weathered skull filling the middle with a hairline crack running across the cranium.

What is carved on it
Crossed brass bones mark the eight off-quarter hours. Four black Jolly Roger flags mark twelve, three, six and nine, each hanging from its own brass staff. The hands are blades: a heavy cutlass for the hour, a longer one for the minute, and a rapier so thin it reads as a line of light for the seconds.

Five complications, and what each one takes
Three reading windows sit on the dial - one above the skull, two along the bottom. Each accepts short text, long text, a ranged value, a monochromatic icon or a small image. Out of the box the left window counts your steps and the right one shows the watch battery; the window above the skull arrives empty, waiting for the weather or for whatever you would rather read there.
Two app-shortcut slots sit at the skull's shoulders. Each takes a small image or a monochromatic icon and draws the app's own icon, so what you see and what you tap agree.
All five are yours to reassign on the watch, and all five may be left empty.

Leave them empty and nothing is drawn
No outline, no placeholder, no reserved gap. Switch every one of them off and you have the dial exactly as it was drawn: skull, bones, flags and blades, and nothing that was not carved there. That is not a fallback state, it is the shipped one, and it is what most of the pictures here show.

The weather complication and one permission
The face itself asks for nothing. Whichever app you assign to a window supplies the reading, and Wear OS does not hand out location access by default, so a weather complication can sit blank until you allow it: Settings > Security and privacy > Permission manager > Location. Everything else - the time, the always-on screen, the steps and the battery - works the moment you install it.

Seven colours for the skull and bones
Antique bone, ash silver, blood rust, cursed gold, ghost blue, venom green and royal purple. The oak and the brass stay as they are; the colour lands on the skull, the crossed bones and the emblems on the flags, so the dial changes its temper without changing its material.

Always-on, at three depths
Relic keeps the skull and the markers. Markers and blades drops the skull and holds the bones. Blades only leaves two flat hands on black. The second hand and every complication go dark in all three.

The second hand, on or off
Off is stiller and quieter. On, the rapier sweeps.
