About this app

Rotunda is a Roman dome you wear. The ground is the Pantheon's coffered ceiling, drawn ring after ring in receding squares. An olive-laurel wreath runs around it, and the hours are marked by four applied numerals: XII, III, VI and IX. Antique hands sweep above a digital block, so the time reads two ways at once.

Nothing on this dial can look empty
An unassigned complication normally draws a grey placeholder ring, and that ring is what a new owner looks at all week. Rotunda draws a reading of its own there instead. Left window: the age of the moon. Right window: the week of the year. The wide row under the hands: the day of the year. Above it the date, and at six o'clock an arc gauge with the watch battery inside it. Assign a provider to any of them and the built-in reading steps aside completely - no leftover label, no reserved gap. Clear that slot again and the face's own reading comes back.

Seven complications, and what each one takes
Five data windows: the date row, left, right, the wide lower row, and the arc gauge at six o'clock. Each accepts short text, long text, a ranged value, a monochromatic icon or a small image, and each may be left unassigned - which here means the face's own reading rather than a hole.
Two app-shortcut slots flank the gauge. They draw the icon the app itself supplies, so what you tap and what you see always agree, and an unassigned shortcut slot draws nothing at all: no outline, no placeholder, no reserved gap.
All seven are yours to reassign on the watch. Out of the box the left window is bound to steps, the right to heart rate and the wide row to your next calendar event.

All of it is chosen on the watch, in Customize. There is no companion app and nothing to set up on a phone.

A hand never swallows a number
Every reading is drawn after the hands, and every colour pairing was measured before it shipped: the worst reading on the worst colourway sits at 7.2:1 against the dome behind it, and the hands at 2.4:1, checked at two hand positions on all six colourways. A reading crossed by a hand stays whole.

Always-on, measured
The always-on screen keeps the wreath, the numerals, both hands and the time, at 7.2 per cent of pixels lit against Wear OS's 15 per cent budget. Hands only measures 1.4 per cent. Nothing had to be reduced to a silhouette to get there.

Good to know
Everything the face draws for itself - date, moon age, week, day of the year, battery - comes from the watch. No account, no permission, no network. A window you assign shows whatever its provider hands back, under that provider's own permissions.
