BatchKnow helps you check production and expiry dates from the batch codes on cosmetics, skincare and perfume. This cosmetic checker supports 355 brands.
Type a code or scan it
Choose your brand, then enter the batch code. You can usually find it on the bottom of a bottle or jar, near the sealed end of a tube, or on the outer box.
Use the camera to scan the batch code, or choose a photo from your phone. You can check and edit the detected text before looking up the date.
Understand your result
Depending on the brand and the code, BatchKnow shows a production date, an expiry date, or both. Some brands reuse their codes after several years. When that happens, you’ll see the possible dates together.
Keep your recent checks
Your last 50 checks stay on your phone, so you can look back at a result without entering the code again. You can clear this history at any time.
Help us improve
If a code cannot be decoded or a result looks wrong, you can send us a report with a photo of the printed code. Add a note to explain the issue and leave your email if you would like a reply. Sending a report is optional.
No account needed
You can start using the batch code checker without signing up. The decoding rules come with the app. Rule and brand updates arrive when you install a new version from Google Play.
About your photos
Photo recognition runs on your phone using Google ML Kit. Your photos and recognized text are not sent to Google. A photo is sent to BatchKnow only if you attach it to a report. ML Kit sends technical diagnostics to Google, as described in our privacy policy.
Dates are calculated from the batch code and should be treated as estimates. Unopened shelf life is usually 3 to 5 years and varies by brand and product. If the pack prints an expiry date or a PAO symbol, follow the pack.
