About this app
ConvoisOnline plans and accompanies abnormal-load convoys, from the office to the wheel.
COMPUTATION ON THE OFFICIAL NETWORKS
Your routes are computed on the official abnormal-load (TE) road networks, from 1TE to TE120: you choose your convoy's category, the route follows the matching network. A long press on the map adds, moves or deletes a waypoint; then run the computation again.
ENGINEERING STRUCTURES AND HAZARDS
The structures and hazards along the route are listed under the result and shown on the map, with their source. Tap one: clearance, tonnage, width, length, requirements published by its road authority, and a shortcut to your maps app. The level of detail depends on the rights attached to your account.
NAVIGATION AT THE WHEEL
Audible and visual alerts before every known constraint and logged structure, an oversized banner and buttons, remaining distance displayed. Announcements continue with the screen off. Off route, guidance keeps running: "Off route, progress paused" appears, your detour is drawn as a dotted line, and the watch for structures ahead of you does not stop.
OFFLINE
Download a map pack along a saved route: it opens with no network coverage, in dead zones or underground.
FROM THE OFFICE TO THE TRUCK
Your routes follow your account: prepare them on convoisonline.com, find them again in the app. Rename, reload, delete, open the route summary and the pilot vehicle form as PDFs.
SHARING WITH A NAMED PERSON
Share a route with one named person, by email address: they find it read-only under the "Shared" tab, PDF summary and pilot vehicle form included, and can forward it to a colleague. The email link opens the app straight on it; revocable at any time.
FAST ENTRY
"My position" suggests your departure point in one gesture. Addresses come from the Base Adresse Nationale, companies from the official French register.
THE MAP, YOUR WAY
The Plan IGN and IGN satellite base maps, each with its source. The Layers panel hides or shows the networks, the engineering structures and the level crossings. Light or dark theme, or your phone's.
REPORTING AND COMMUNITY
One tap captures the point to report: position, timestamp, heading, speed. The draft stays on the device until you send it. The La Chaine tab opens the abnormal-load transport community in your browser.
YOUR DATA
Your data stays in France. No tracker, no advertising, no third-party analytics.
Routing engine, structure database, API and backups run on our servers, in France; database and authentication are hosted in Paris, in France.
Your alerts are computed on the device; off route, your position is sent to refresh the list of structures ahead of you, and is never stored.
Our service providers are French, our external sources are the French State's public data, nothing is transferred outside the European Union, and the product is built on open-source bricks: MapLibre, Valhalla, PostGIS, OpenStreetMap.
WHAT THE APP DOES NOT DO
Stated dimensions are information, not authorisations: a stated clearance never guarantees the crossing, a missing requirement is not a missing constraint. Our indications replace neither the route survey nor the carrier's obligations. The app does not recompute a route while you drive: leaving the planned route raises an alert, never a new itinerary.
ACCOUNT AND LOCATION
A BDR Systemes account is required; it is created free of charge on convoisonline.com, and the app offers no purchase.
The app uses location, with the "while using the app" permission, including in the background, in order to warn you before a size or weight constraint; for as long as this tracking runs, a permanent notification says so on your device.
