Every button is free. No ads on the remote. Roku, Google TV, Android TV and infrared in one app. No account, no sign-up.
Beam turns your phone into a fast, clean remote for your TV. It finds your Roku, Google TV or Android TV on your Wi-Fi, controls it right away, and keeps everything on your home network.
ONE REMOTE FOR EVERY TV
• Roku, Google TV and Android TV over Wi-Fi, plus infrared for older TVs on phones that have an IR blaster
• Save several TVs, rename and reorder them, and switch with one tap on the TV's name
• Beam reconnects to the TV you used last
EVERYTHING YOU EXPECT
• D-pad, OK, Back, Home, volume, mute, channel, media keys and a number pad
• Press-and-hold for volume and the D-pad on Google TV
• Use your phone's volume buttons to change the TV volume while Beam is open (turn it off in Settings)
APPS AND TYPING
• Open apps from a grid: your Roku's channels with their icons, or quick links on Google TV, plus links you add yourself
• Type into search boxes with your phone's keyboard instead of picking letters one by one
MACROS
• One tap runs a short list of steps: wake the TV, wait, open an app, type, press keys
• Start from a template such as "Movie night", or build your own
• Put a macro on a home-screen widget
SLEEP TIMER
• Pick 15, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes, or your own time, and Beam switches the TV off, even if the app is closed
WAKE TV AND CONNECTION DOCTOR
• Wake your TV from standby. It works if your TV allows waking over Wi-Fi
• If a TV can't be reached, the Connection doctor checks Wi-Fi, the network, the TV and your Roku's "Control by mobile apps" setting, and tells you how to fix it
• If your TV got a new address, Beam finds it again and updates it for you
WIDGETS AND QUICK SETTINGS
• Small and medium home-screen widgets for power, volume, D-pad, Home and your favourite macro
• A Quick Settings tile for TV power
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Beam talks to your TV over your local network only, and asks for no special permissions
• No account, no analytics, and no tracking of what you watch
• No ads on the remote. Beam is free, and the only ads are small banners on the Find TV and Settings screens, served by Google AdMob. You can review your ad choices in Settings where required
NOTES
• Google TV asks for a one-time pairing code shown on the TV
• Roku needs "Control by mobile apps" turned on: Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Control by mobile apps
• Waking a TV, and infrared, depend on your TV and phone; not every model supports them
• Beam is an independent app and is not affiliated with Roku, Google or any TV brand. Names are used only to describe compatibility.
