Great remote light switch - NOT! You can manually turn the light on and off, use the Wemo app on your smart phone to turn the light on/off or set rules such as turn on at sunset, off at midnite. It knows by your location what time sunrise and sunset occur and adjusts the time accordingly. There are hundreds of other conditional rules to control the light on the IFFT website (if this then do that to the light). Check it out. Switch won't work anymore with new router. App needs major update The app is so crucial in the user experience and gateway to your products. You guys need to update the reliability and performance and maybe it can't hurt to make it to Android latest material design standards. The app is so slow and took forever to set up my wemo switch. Whoever is your app developer needs a talk or you guys should hire a new team. Android users are by the billions, let's focus on them.
Good start to home automation Got into Wemo for some away from home automation. It took a bit to configure my home network so that I wasn't losing connection to the devices while on the same wifi network. Funny thing is it ALWAYS worked in the cellular networks. Anyways it is great to have and after some trial and error I have managed to build a good schedule via the rules services.
Aaaaand got it. "Get the app to open sooner and the rules page to open every time and I'll give the other two stars." Was my previous review. I'm a man of my word. You earned the two stars. Everything works great. One of the most reliable and smoothest working home automation apps out there. Went from worst to first! Keep it up. I love the device.
It's okay... I've never been able to get the 3/4g connection to work, but i only ever use it on my LAN, so it works out. It really should have a persistent connection, though. Every time the app is backgrounded, the connection closes and needs to be reestablished upon foregrounding. Firmware updates work most of the time, and I appreciate the security updates. Overall good, but could be better.
Works until I try to link my nest The app works fine for setting schedules and controlling my switch, but as soon as I link my best account to the demo account everything fails. After the link I attempted to adjust a schedule and the app told me that my switch needed a firmware update. Accepted the update but nothing downloaded or installed. Stuck in this loop forever. Also the switch seemed to turn on and off randomly and not according to schedule. Unlinked my nest, everything works fine again. Looking forward to an update.

Aside from that, we made these improvements:

• Made slight improvements to the user interface.
