About this app

AlarmLabs is designed to make it possible to change how you dismiss your alarm every day and never run out of options.

AlarmLabs works with routines that you define. Routines can do anything from disabling your alarm with a single button, to enforcing a complex string of challenges and tasks. The combination of segments you choose can be different every morning.

The editor makes this possible without endless lists of toggles and sliders, by visualizing routines in a way similar to flowcharts. Routines are created in an intuitive drag-and-drop editor. You can also choose and customize routines from a varied list of pre-sets.

The list of segments available to use in routines currently contains (but is not limited to):
● Sound: Comes with a varied list of ringtones and the option to import your own sounds. Volume can be customized and will be strictly enforced when the alarm rings.
● Timer: Timers can be set to count down from anywhere from 1 second, to over 15 hours. Timers are great for implementing custom snooze options, and for putting a time limit on your routine.
● Button: Great for simple transitions in routines. Can be a single click, or a button that must be held down for up to a minute.
● QR-Code: Either create a code in the app or choose one that you have laying around. The perfect way to force yourself to leave your bed.
● Math: Solve a math problem, the difficulty of which can be customized by changing everything from number of elements to which operations are included.
● Dictation: A typing challenge. Type out either a randomly generated string of characters, or a preselected reminder, motivational text or whatever else you want.
● Memory: Memorize and repeat the sequence. The length of the sequence and the consequence of making a mistake can be customized.
● Walking: Requires you to get active in the morning. Pick a step goal of up to 500 steps.

Relevant permissions. These permissions are not required to use the app, but are needed for specific core features:
- Setting alarms and reminders: Needed for the way AlarmLabs schedules alarms.
- Camera: This is needed to use the QR-code segment, in order to access the scanner.
- Access music and audio: Needed to import your own ringtones from device storage.
- Access physical activity: Needed to use the device as a step-counter for the walking segment.
- Notifications: Needed for ringing alarms to appear on your lock screen, without this permission granted you will need to manually unlock your device and open the app to disable alarms.
