Palm Beach Modern Auctions specializes in 20th and 21st century modern and contemporary art, design, decorative arts & branded luxury goods. We host four premier auction events and several themed boutique sales annually in our Lake Worth Beach, Florida exhibition space, attended by 125+ guests who enjoy complimentary refreshments and valet parking.
Our diverse inventory caters to an international audience of collectors, designers, dealers & galleries. Sister companies Urban Culture Auctions and Palm Beach Modern Gallery (formerly Objects20C) handle the pop culture and retail aspects of the business, making PBMA a one-stop approach for many of our clients.
Bidding is now easier than ever, thanks to the PBMA app. As always, in-house, phone, absentee and browser-based bids are also accepted.
Why bid with PBMA?
Bidding at auction should be easy, uncomplicated and fun. At Palm Beach Modern Auctions & Urban Culture Auctions it is, and here's how we make that happen:
You know what you're getting...
We use straightforward language and include multiple photos showing various angles including construction/condition details, clear and accurate statements regarding condition of the item, and (when available) include book/online references and history (provenance) in each of our listings. Bidders can examine the item in person during our preview period, and we have a knowledgeable & approachable team available to answer any questions or concerns. In short, you will know everything we know about the item prior to bidding. We don't like surprises any more than you do.
Vetted modern & contemporary...
We specialize in 20th-21st Century art, design and pop culture. You won't wade through hundreds of antiques in search of Royere chairs, Murakami prints or Van Cleef & Arpels earrings. Our team carefully examines, researches, and provides a fair and accurate estimate before offering the items to you at auction. Our proximity to Palm Beach and Miami plus worldwide press garnered on our auctions including The Drawings of Karl Lagerfeld, The Studio 54/Steve Rubell Collection, and The James Dean Jacket, means that we are bringing to auction the most sought-after and rare pieces from the most prestigious collections.
Convenient buying options...
We agree, buying at auction should never be intimidating, complicated or inconvenient. We offer many bidding options so you can choose which is most comfortable for you. Place your bids in-person on auction day, in real time or in advance online, by phone, or by absentee...you get to decide. If buying electronically is most convenient for you, you will find that the entire transaction, from your bidder registration to paying your invoice, can be completed from your phone or computer. If you prefer a paper form, we offer those options as well. Simply let us know your preferences and we will point you in the right direction.
Our event-based auctions are fun to attend...
Our auctions are an opportunity to leave your car with the valet & enjoy themed catering & refreshments while you bid. You might even be surprised to find a new mural covering the building for an Urban Culture sale or be greeted by a Diana Ross impersonator as you enter our exhibition space. Our auctions are always memorable, and we hope to see you at the next event.
Whether you're buying or selling with us - or both, as many of our clients do - most importantly, you're never alone! Our team is here with prompt and helpful answers, from questions about items of interest and shipping options, to buying & selling at auction. If you are having any problems at all or just want extra help, feel free to contact by phone or email our Concierge Services Liaison, who has access to all departments and straight to the top if necessary.
We are always accepting consignments for future auctions. Are you an estate appraiser, attorney, art advisor, designer, realtor or other service professional? Let us know so we can provide assistance tailored to your needs.
