Pliny the Helper is an open source, multiplatform brew helper to help you manage your brew recipes and brew better beer. It is fully compatible with the free BeerXML 1.0 standard, so you can import your recipes from other calculators like Brewer's Friend.
The functions of the app are as follows:
- Recipe Editor, where you can choose fermentables, hops, yeasts and miscelleanous ingredients. It will then calculate your estimated gravity, bitterness and color of your brew and compare them to predefined beer styles.
- Style Viewer, where you have a detailled of predefined beer styles, with usual gravity, bitternes, color and typical ingredients.
- Ingredient Viewer, where you can look at the available ingredients in more details.
- Water profiles, where you can define your local water profile and calculate an estimated mash pH and see the effect of your water agents additions.
- Calculators, where you can calculate ABV, hydrometer adjustment, refractometer and some common conversions.
- Settings Page, where you can change some common parameters.
