About this app

Turn your Android phone into a pocket sensor laboratory with Axisbench. Explore actual readings from the hardware inside your device, follow simple experiments, and record the data you want to keep.
DISCOVER YOUR SENSORS Search or filter the available instruments, including the accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetic-field sensor, barometer, ambient-light sensor, proximity sensor and additional device-provided sensors. Each sensor is clearly labeled available or unavailable on your phone.
WATCH LIVE READINGS Open a sensor for readable measurements, individual axis values, a rolling, timestamp-based live graph you can freeze without stopping recording, observed sensor delivery-rate estimates, and hardware information. Choose a requested sampling rate to suit your experiment. Actual measurement speed and accuracy depend on your phone and Android.
TRY GUIDED OBSERVATIONS Tilt your phone, rotate it gently, change ambient light or explore a magnetic field. Short prompts help you understand what each measurement shows. Available exercises depend on your device's sensors.
RECORD AND TAKE YOUR DATA Record a session on your phone and keep the readings as a CSV file. Export files using Android's system picker or share them with an app you choose. Review local session summaries before exporting, delete individual sessions, or clear saved recordings from Settings.
BUILT FOR PRIVACY Axisbench works offline. No account, backend, tracking SDK or internet permission is required. Your saved measurements stay in the app's private local storage until you choose to export or share them.
Light and dark display options, clear sensor units and a data-first workspace make everyday exploration more enjoyable.
Important: Phone sensors are not certified lab instruments. Hardware availability, actual sampling speeds and physical accuracy vary by device. Axisbench is designed for education and exploration, not critical safety decisions.
Live phone sensor graphs, guided experiments, and offline CSV recording.

Data safety

Safety starts with understanding how developers collect and share your data. Data privacy and security practices may vary based on your use, region, and age. The developer provided this information and may update it over time.

What’s new

Improvements:
Search sensor names, categories and detected sensor manufacturer; available-only filter with a resettable empty state.

Preserve original event timestamps in UI graph samples.

Freeze/resume the displayed graph without stopping the registered sensor or active CSV recording.

Inspect locally saved CSVs for measurement count, elapsed duration and first-axis min/max.

Keep all data offline, preserve the existing file picker/export/share and explicit delete operations.
