The Bike Better app is a tool for bicyclists to reduce the risk of accidents on roads. This app uses existing accident data to show bikers where there are several bicycle accidents along their bike route. This is a way to increase safety among bicyclists. When the user enters the app for the first time, they have to accept or decline the device’s access to their location. If accepted then the user will see a marker displaying their current location. If they decline then markers like the current location and markers that users make cannot be saved on the app. The app will also provide routes to different locations. When users want to see a route, they have to provide their current location and destination information. If the user allows the phone to access their location in the beginning then their current location will automatically be filled out. Then they can choose their destination and it will show a route from their current location to their chosen destination. Along with the route to the destination, there will be markers along the way displaying the different locations of bicycle accidents that have occurred in the past and present. This will help bicyclists create a safer plan for themselves when they are biking.
