About this app

Pilgrim Companion

Build a lifelong habit of hiding God's Word in your heart.

Pilgrim Companion is a Bible reading and memorization app built for confessional Reformed and Presbyterian Christians. It combines structured Bible reading plans with catechism and confessional study, the historic Scottish Psalter, and a simple, honest review system.

Bible Reading Plans
Choose the Pilgrim NT Plan (New Testament in one year) or the Pilgrim Bible Plan (whole Bible in five years) — each with five readings a week and weekends free for rest or catching up. Missed readings move automatically into your Backlog, so nothing is lost and there's no pressure to keep a perfect streak. Your Home screen shows this week's readings, your overall progress, and a link to browse the full plan.
Scripture Memorization
Three memory modes help you move from reading to recall, available throughout the app — Bible, catechisms, and the Apostles' Creed alike:

First Letter Cue (FLC) — see only the first letter of each word as a prompt
Word Fade — every other word hidden, a lighter assist before full recall
Sequential Recall — work through a Bible chapter verse by verse, building cumulative memory

Creeds & Confessions
Study the Westminster Confession of Faith, Westminster Shorter Catechism (107 Q&A), Westminster Larger Catechism (196 Q&A), Heidelberg Catechism (129 Q&A), the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed (broken into its 12 traditional Articles), and the Nicene Creed — all in one place. Tap any scripture proof to see the full verse instantly.

The 1650 Scottish Psalter
The complete metrical Psalter, all 150 psalms, grouped into the traditional Five Books for easy browsing. Several psalms include their historic alternate versions. Read the Psalter alongside the KJV text with Split View, or use Ref KJV mode to see the matching verses inline as you read.

Matthew Henry's Commentary
Concise commentary from Matthew Henry is available for most chapters of the Bible — accessible from any chapter you're reading, or browse it directly.

Review Queue
Add Bible verses, catechism questions, and creed articles to your review queue. Items you haven't reviewed in a while surface first. Mark something Aced once you've mastered it — it moves to a separate list, easy to bring back anytime if you need to brush up.

Accessibility
Adjustable font size up to very large print, with a bold text option, for comfortable reading at any age or vision level.
