If you have a photo of a bird, This app can help. Take a photo, choose from your camera roll, or snap a photo of the viewfinder on your camera, and it is a powerful AI that will suggest an identification almost instantly.

How can computers learn to recognize birds from sounds? The Sound Identifier research project uses artificial intelligence and neural networks to train computers to identify more than 3,000 of the most common species worldwide. You can record a file using the microphone of your device and see if Sound Identifier correctly identifies the probable bird species present in your recording. Get to know the birds around you and help us to collect observations by submitting your recordings.

The recognition function uses the microphone of your mobile phone and presents you with a probability of identification. The algorithm is not perfect and can give overvalued probabilities (in particular a probability should not be considered as exact).

- Photo ID that utilises the latest NatureAi Artificial Intelligence technology and identifies a bird from a photo that you upload.

- After successfully identifying your bird the app will confirm the best matches and provide dynamic links to the Wikipedia page of the bird that will open in the app.

- The ability to browse birds should be preferred. Birds are ordered by taxonomic families and searchable. The content for each bird directly links to the Wikipedia page of the bird.

- Choose bird packs that contain photos, songs, and calls, and identification help for anywhere in the world, including Mexico, Costa Rica, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, Australia, Korea, Japan, China, and more.

In-depth information for each bird can be found using the Wikipedia links found in each bird profile screen. Additional birding data will be added to this app frequently and with more features planned in future updates too!

Ratings and reviews

Horrible app. spams you with ads immediately, wants access to your cookies, wants you to create an account immediately, tries to trick you into paying for a subscription. I will never use this app again and i would never recommend it to anyone.

At first opening I get an add then I'm asked to rate the app and then you propose me to get premium. Of course, the bird flew away. On top of that you can't do anything without getting premium... This is a paid app. Advertise it as so. Because it's useless when you don't pay. What a scam. And yes, I got it : you offer a 3 day trial.

I found this app laye at night (i heard a strange bird outside and wanted to discover what was it). I didn't even start to use it after installing as the app switched on som ad in full loudness so my neighbours woke up and the bird flew away. Now i woke up and the next thing to do after this review would be uninstalling this app.
