Bird Runner is a free offline endless runner: an ostrich, a desert, a row of cacti and vulture with bad intentions. Tap to jump, swipe down to duck, and see how far you can get before something trips you up.
If you've ever killed time with the little dinosaur game that appears when your internet drops, you already know how to play. Bird Runner is that kind of game — the no-WiFi, pick-it-up-for-ninety-seconds runner — drawn fresh from scratch, in colour, with a small palette chosen to be easy on the eyes. No account, no tutorial, nothing shouting at you.
PLAYS OFFLINE
No internet connection needed. On a plane, on the train, in a dead spot — it runs.
ONE THUMB, TWO MOVES
• Tap anywhere to jump
• Swipe down anywhere to duck
That's the whole control scheme. Cacti come in ones, twos and threes. Vultures fly low (duck or jump) or high (don't jump — the trap is the reflex).
IT GETS FASTER
Speed ramps with distance, then steps up again every 1000 points. Every gap is guaranteed clearable, so a death is always your mistake, never an unfair spawn.
A DAY THAT PASSES
The desert moves from dawn through noon and dusk into night and back. After dark the ostrich flips to a pale silhouette so you never lose it against the sky.
PLAY IT YOUR WAY
Landscape or portrait — flip from the corner. Portrait shows less of the road ahead, so it scrolls slower to keep things fair.
SMALL AND HONEST
• Original pixel art, hand-drawn on a strict grid
• Three soft sound cues, with a mute toggle
• Best score saved on your device
• Free. A short ad appears after some runs, and you can choose to watch one to survive a crash — once per run, never mid-run.
For anyone who likes the offline dinosaur runner (dino run) idea and wanted one that's calmer, in colour, and made with care. Tap to start.
