UCD Mobile – a new app for mobile devices

UCD staff & students, together with alumni, prospective students and visitors now have a handy way to stay connected to UCD. Owners of smart phones and other mobile devices can now download a free application ‘UCD Mobile’ that puts the University in the palm of their hand.

There is a wealth of information available through the new app which delivers real-time news and services. For example, at the touch of a button you can see where exactly you are on campus and find the building you’re looking for with the interactive Maps service. The latest University News and updates are available via the News feature which contains a number of news categories to choose from including the University Noticeboard. There is a Directory service that not only shows staff contact details but links to the map service directing users to the contact’s address on campus.

The Events Calendar will keep you in touch with the many activities and events taking place on campus and the Sports module with subdivisions for various sports and men’s and women’s teams will keep fans up to date with the latest scores and fixtures.

Blackboard Mobile Learn gives you direct access to Blackboard content, announcements and much more.

The Videos feature brings you a wide variety of student and faculty produced videos including lectures from various programmes.

Ratings and reviews

Installed last year and worked fine up until recently, when it just would not load my emails, something about a work load error. I'll happily bump my review up a star if that gets fixed. Other than that problem, it's a decent app that does the job.

Keeps crashing when I try to book the gym. Definitely needs to be reprogrammed to say that it is booked instead of crashing if that is the reason (and needs to be fixed regardless).

Was good, but now I can't book the gym or cinema. It just keeps kicking me out. Please fix. Looks like last update was 2021. Probably time to update again.
