About this app

Secure Shield User Agent is the Android client for the Block Armour Secure Shield Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) platform. It is intended for employees and contractors of organisations that have deployed Secure Shield. An account provisioned by your organisation's administrator is required to use this app.

USE OF VPNSERVICE

Secure Shield uses Android's VpnService API to establish an encrypted tunnel between your device and your organisation's Zero Trust gateway. Providing this secure tunnel is the app's core functionality.

When you sign in and tap Connect, the app:
- Establishes an encrypted VPN tunnel to your organisation's Zero Trust gateway
- Evaluates each outbound connection against your organisation's access policy
- Forwards permitted traffic to approved corporate applications and resources through the tunnel
- Blocks connections that your organisation's policy does not permit

All data between your device and the tunnel endpoint is encrypted.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL

The VPN connection is started only when you sign in and explicitly initiate it, and only after you grant Android's standard VPN consent prompt. For the entire session an ongoing notification and the Android system VPN indicator remain visible. You can disconnect at any time from within the app, or revoke VPN permission in your device settings under Settings → Network & internet → VPN.

WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO

- It does not display ads and does not monetise your traffic in any way
- It does not redirect or manipulate traffic from other apps for advertising or any other commercial purpose
- It does not inspect, log, sell or share the contents of your traffic
- It does not collect or transmit personal or sensitive data beyond what is required for authentication and access control, as set out in our privacy policy
- It is not a consumer VPN: it does not provide anonymous browsing, location masking or general-purpose privacy
- It is not used for fraud and does not circumvent device security or Android's permission model

Secure Shield User Agent is an enterprise device security and access management application. Corporate traffic is handled by infrastructure operated by your own organisation, not by Block Armour. Contact your IT administrator for access.
