Lockwatch secretly takes a photo using your front camera when someone enters an incorrect unlock code on your phone. It then emails you a photo of the intruder along with their GPS location, without them knowing.
The app has helped recover hundreds of lost and stolen phones, and has been featured in TV and online news stories.
Lockwatch uses Android's built-in lock screen and runs only when an incorrect unlock attempt occurs, so it doesn’t drain your battery.
Note: You must enter at least four digits or dots for Lockwatch to trigger. If the correct code is entered within 10 seconds, Lockwatch will cancel the alert to avoid false alarms.
The app offers additional features, such as the ability to attach multiple photos and audio clips to the email, email notifications when a new SIM card is inserted or when the phone is turned on.
Lockwatch includes a free 7-day trial. After that, a subscription is required to continue using the app. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends.
