Oakrota is a volunteer shift scheduler designed for community organizers who need a clear and simple way to manage daily staffing. The app presents shifts as wooden tags hanging from a warm oak pegboard, with filled shifts marked by green twine and open shifts marked by red twine. From the Today tab you can see all of today's shifts at a glance and quickly spot which roles still need volunteers. Two small counters near the top of the pegboard show the total number of shifts for the day and the number of unfilled shifts, so the most important information is immediately visible. The Add tab gives you a simple form to enter a shift title, choose a date, assign a volunteer, and include any relevant notes. Shift titles and dates are required, while volunteer names and notes can be added as needed or left blank. In the Shifts tab, every shift is listed in date order for quick review, and you can tap any listed shift to edit its details or remove it. You can also tap a shift tag directly on the pegboard to open the same editing view, making corrections and updates quickly. The Search tab lets you filter shifts by shift title or volunteer name, which is especially useful when you are checking a specific person's commitments or looking for a particular role. All shift records are stored locally on the device, so the app works reliably for offline scheduling and keeps your information readily available. Because the design is intentionally simple, organizers can focus on assigning volunteers and filling openings without navigating complex menus. Oakrota is well suited for small volunteer teams, community events, and nonprofit groups that need a straightforward way to coordinate local shifts. The warm workshop-style layout keeps the experience friendly and grounded, while the clear visual signals help everyone see what is covered and what still needs help. Whether you are coordinating a one-day event or a recurring volunteer schedule, Oakrota helps you keep shift assignments organized and visible.
