Description

A simple application to quickly search Metacritic for video games. It will display the metascore and you can click through to the Metacritic page for that game. You can filter out which consoles to search for in the settings menu. Consoles currently supported:

-PC
-PS2
-PS3
-PS4
-Xbox 360
-Xbox One
-Wii
-WiiU
-3DS
-DS
-PSP
-PS Vita

By clicking on the scanner icon you can use your phones camera to quickly scan the barcode of a video game. This feature requires a separate download of the app Barcode Scanner.

Once you click on the game you were searching for, you will be taken to the details page.

On the details page you go to the Metacritic site itself by clicking the Cover art or title text. You will be able to browse all the reviews and get more details on the Metacritic site.

Also on the cover page you can search multiple stores, currently:

-Amazon
-Amazon UK
-Best Buy
-Ebay
-Gamestop
-Play.com
-Toys R Us
-Steam

to compare prices! More stores to be added in the future, let me know if there is a particular store you would like to see.

You can now view gameplay videos of video games right from the details page, view videos on:

- Youtube
- Twitch

Application Permissions include the access to the internet, checking network connectivity, and writing to the SDCard to cache results. As well as in-app billing, if you would like to turn off ads.

This app is not an official Metacritic app and is in now way associated with Metacritic.com or it's parent company.

I really liked it, so went Ad Free. I like to see certain scores and this does it. Nice. PS I had to uninstall to get no ads but it's fine now

No comparison to actual website. The specifics of your search are in now way up to scratch. The site is pretty poorly designed. I could not go through individual review websites. The app feels like an early beta version of metacritic.

Ok...for now. As difficult as it may be, the closer the app gets to being like the website, the better. The fluidity with which I can link from Steam, to Metacritic, to the reviews Metacritic provides is the reason I use them both to find good games and game reviews. I like to research and the Metacritic website is great for that purpose. A few UI suggestions: 1) Allow for access to ALL pc, ps4, xbox, etc via drop-down. 2) Link to review sites and user reviews like the website. 3) ADD an app game section for ios/'driod.

Hi, Can you let me know what games you were searching for? My app only can get the information from the metacritic site, so if the game is not scored on their site it will not return any results. That being said it could be an issue with how I format the query, so please let me know what you were looking for and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Filter does not work Just installed and played around for a bit. Unimpressed with results. I tried the filter and results continue to show the game systems I filtered out.

It shouldn't do this as long as you refresh the results. I just added auto-refresh so hopefully this fixes your issue.

Update no good The update and new design makes finding a game harder. I spelled the game right and still it shows results of different games.

Probably the best metacritic app Best I have tried so far. Only does games but that suits me. Would be good if it pulled the users score as well as the pro critics, as this helps when judging the overall rating.

Alright While it does provide the scores, it'd be nice if it also provided the reviews, links to them, or a link to the game on the Metacritic website. Other than that, seems to work well, although kind of slow on my Droid 4.

Doesn't function properly. Installed. Got a large list of games on platforms I don't care about. Selected preferable platforms in settings - app stuck on "loading". I'm using a new KitKat device and it's only X360 and PC in my filter. After a number of different attempts (and updates) with the system looks like it shows everything at the first run and filters the way i want. Though any filter changes lead tot he same problem until program is unloaded from the system.

Needs game links Very simple display of video game Metacritic scores. Would give this app a much higher score if it provided links to the metacritic score breakdown pages. Knowing the score is good, but knowing why is great. Update: Developer pointed out that the feature I wanted already exists in the app, I just didn't know how to get there. Thank you, this feature just made your app much more usable.

Thank you for the feedback! I'll look into linking directly to the score page in a future update. For now if you click on the title or the picture it should send you to the main metacritic page for that game and you can drill into the score from there.

Not very useful at all Although the app gives you a metascore, it gives you no other information to go on to buy the game. It doesn't tell you if it's the user score or critic score (important for me as I don't trust the critic scores), and it doesn't give you any written reviews, which let you know the good points and bad points of a game. Something important when buying a game. In that sense, it's hardly a good guide for buying games.

Just a quick review score In short this is a quick look, not a mobile website app. You search and see the score, if you want more just click and you are sent to the site. The barcode scan is nice as well.

Needs handheld search Doesn't search metacritic for handheld games for ds or psp. Could also parse the metacritic site for game description, if not include review summary. Needs to display both critic and user review scores.

What's the point? The layout is nice and clean and modern, but checking out the reviews individually only kicks you to the browser. So what's the point? Better off just going to the browser from the get go. This is redundant. Metacritic needs a prime app.

Very nice app Very easy to use, simple design, fast loading. Anyone who knows the game knows descriptions aren't needed and the simplier the design, the better. Great app, found via devs. reddit link.

No sorting features The lack of sorting gimps this app for the purpose I would actually use it for. I don't use metacritic to check on a particular game, I use it to find the best games.
