03-12-2024 update: ever since beginning March 2024 the app no longer shows any freezing when viewing and selecting cameras. I'm bumping from 2 to 5 stars. Hoping it's stays stable from now on. Original review: The app was working just fine until the last update (09-26-2023). Since the new update it's become very slow. There is now a 5-10 second freeze to load the camera feeds. It's been 4 months and the developer has done nothing to address this issue. All recent android reviews mention this.

I have been using, or rather, trying to use the BI android app for several years. It has always been oddly unintuitive and difficult to navigate and recently it seems to have gotten worse. While reading others reviews I was reminded that it cost me $10! At that price the developers should be able to attract and hire competent android programming talent. My wife uses an iPhone and her experience the BI app has been much better so I have a notion of what should be possible.

Just, weak. It's functional to a degree, and the UI is decent. But ... You open it, check some cameras, then switch to another app. When you return to Blue Iris, it no longer connects to cameras. So each use of it requires you to terminate the app. Performance on searching and skipping through history videos is really bad.
