Study for your learner's knowledge test with practice questions written for your own province or territory, and learn why every wrong answer is wrong.
Learners Test Canada is an independent study app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government or licensing authority, such as DriveTest, ICBC, SAAQ, SGI or MPI.
Every province and territory
Canada has no single driving test: each province and territory sets its own. So each one has its own question bank, written from its own driver's handbook, with more than 2,700 original practice questions in all:
• Ontario: G1 knowledge test
• Alberta: Class 7 knowledge test
• British Columbia: Class 7L knowledge test
• Québec: Class 5 theory exam
• Manitoba: Class 5L knowledge test
• Saskatchewan: Class 7 Basic and Signs exams
• Nova Scotia and New Brunswick: Class 7 learner's tests, signs and rules
• Prince Edward Island: Class 7 instruction permit test
• Newfoundland and Labrador: Class 5 Level I written test
• Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut: Class 7 learner's tests
Whether your province calls it a learner's licence or a learner's permit, you practise the rules and road signs of the place where you take the test.
Learn from every mistake
• If you miss, you first see why your choice was wrong, then why the right answer is right.
• Every wrong choice has its own explanation, so you recognise the same trap on test day.
• Each answer names the handbook section the rule comes from.
• Tell the app how sure you were. Lucky guesses come back for review too.
• Your mistakes and saved questions are one tap away.
• If a question looks wrong, report it from its explanation and we check it against the handbook.
Practice tests in your province's format
• Full practice tests follow your province's parts, number of questions, pass marks and time limit, where published. Anything else is labelled "to be confirmed".
• Where each part of the test is scored on its own, you get a result for each part against its pass mark.
• Timed tests can also be practised with double time or with no timer.
• Quick quizzes of 10, 20 or 40 questions, and practice by topic.
Road signs
Regulatory, warning, construction, school and information signs, traffic signals and pavement markings, grouped by family. Every sign is an original drawing made for the app.
A plan for every day
• Pick a daily goal of 5, 10 or 20 minutes. Reviews of what you missed or guessed come first, then new questions.
• Progress for each part of the test, study days and achievements.
• Optional daily study reminder, and read-aloud for questions and answer choices.
English and French, offline
• Use the whole app in English or French, and switch at any time. Québec's questions are written in French first.
• Questions, explanations and sources are on your phone, so you can study without a connection.
• Dark mode, and screens that adapt to larger text.
Free, with optional lifetime access
• Practice questions and quick quizzes are free and unlimited.
• One full practice test a day is free, plus up to two more a day if you choose to watch a short video for each.
• Free users see a small banner ad on result screens. Ads are never personalised.
• Lifetime access is a one-time purchase through Google Play (CA$5.99): unlimited full practice tests, detailed progress and no ads. No subscription, and no account needed to buy it.
Your progress, your choice
• Study as a guest and keep everything on your phone.
• Or create an optional account with email or Google, and choose to sync your progress, province by province.
• You choose at setup whether to share usage statistics and crash reports, and can change it later.
• Export or erase your study data, or delete your account, from the app.
Important
Learners Test Canada helps you study. It is not the test itself, it does not use questions from any real test, and it cannot promise that you will pass. Always read your province's driver's handbook before your test.
