About this app

Panda helps people with visual and motor disabilities operate their
Android device by voice.

Panda understands spoken commands and carries them out on your phone,
speaking back each step so you always know what's happening — no
need to see or touch the screen.

Panda can help with:
- Messaging (e.g. "Send a WhatsApp message to Mom saying I'll be
home late")
- Reading content aloud (e.g. "Read me my latest emails")
- Checking information (e.g. "What's my next calendar event?")
- Getting around (e.g. "Call an Uber home")

Panda announces what it's doing as it does it, and vibrates when it
starts and finishes a task, so you can follow along without looking
at the screen.

To start, just speak to Panda. To stop, say "stop" or turn off Panda
in Settings > Accessibility > Panda.

This app uses the AccessibilityService API to help users with visual
and motor impairments. It uses the API to collect information about
the controls on the screen and activate them based on the user's
spoken instructions.

Still to early for prime time. It's unresponsive. Very very very slow when it does work. I just did a basic task to send a message took forever almost 4 mins to do anything. Then I top of that it's always popping to listen which is annoying. Because when you want to use it. It doesn't work. App is not ready for general use. Cool idea I hope it works out for them

This app is well-designed for an indie project, if overt with the art (2013 design language). Functionally, though, I can't recommend this app for power users because BYOK is paywalled (0.70€/mo as of writing), meanwhile AI Studio offers keys for free. Let's say it wasn't: there's no voice input (offloaded, ignores LLM's own), TTS is forced, the agent is fully reliant on the a11y service - no shell cmds, no MCP. It's recompilable, but I'd rather semaphore through Gemini in Calendar.

We are planning to add MCP support in next release. At the moment, android app do not have access to run shell commands on device. To solve this, we are planning to add remote desktop control via Panda. Thank you for providing your valuable feedback. Please reach out to us at support@heypanda.org if you have other suggestions.

I first discovered this app from a yt video, and i thought; oh wow, this is amazing! And it was when I first installed it. For the first 20 mins everything was great. Then I realised that you need to pay to actually use this for more than a few tries. And the more stuff you ask it to do in one command it will drain more credits. Let's say i said: Open youtube, search for cool apps for Android and click on the first one. That would use 3 credits. I belive you get maybe 20 credits which runs out.
